Mullis Senior Center 12:00 noon Lunch potluck
Hostesses: Sharon Morrissey, Susan Sargis, Marguerite Bennett
Assorted colorful glass vases of flowers with greens, yarrow, roses, and hypericum. The hostesses brought raspberry iced tea and mint and lemon iced water along with our normal hot teas. They also made teacups filled with fresh fruit and a dollop of whipped cream to brighten our lunch. Sharon had also made special jam filled cookies that were delicious.
President Marguerite Bennett called the meeting to order after a very tasty potluck lunch.
The Meeting Record of the last meeting was approved as read.
Treasurer Vonnie Harold reported that we have $2,515.28 in the bank. The Hanging Basket class earned the club $163.34. The donation of $500.00 to the Town of Friday Harbor for the hanging baskets has not been paid yet. The young man who received the Youth Best of Class ribbon at the San Juan County Fair 2014 has not been tracked down.
The Flower Power fundraiser is closed.
The San Juan Island Garden Tour is looking for two more docents.

Vonnie Harold reported on the excursion to Christensens for the Rose Festival on June 27th. Deadline is June 20th. Cost: $35.00
Vonnie Harold reported that the excursion to the Medicinal Herb Tour in Seattle has been postponed. Other possible excursions include Evergreen Arboretum in Everett, Cloud Mountain Center for Fall Festival, and a wreath making class in Marysville.
Vonnie Harold reported that Theresa Hill would be willing to offer a Fall Basket Making class. Theresa was an excellent instructor. J
President Marguerite Bennett thanked the Garden Club Board members: Treasurer Vonnie Harold, Website Master Tori Benz-Hillstrom, Secretary Patricia Penwell, Excursion Committee Vonnie Harold and Dot Vandaveer. She presented each one with a gardener’s tool bag, a rosemary plant for remembrance, sharp pruning shears, and gardening gloves. J Dot Vandaveer presented President Marguerite Bennett with English Rose Tea in a special tin with a floating tea infuser.

The San Juan Island Garden Club’s next meeting will be in September.
